Two excellent Workshops combined and priced as one! AND the opportunity of a bonus escorted Trail through beautiful Jarrahdale Forest the following afternoon!*
Jayne has ridden trails or "hacked-out" since she was a young girl in England, 30+ years of experience from the forests to the outback, Snowy Ranges to Kings Park and even Murray Street Mall!
Considering the potential hazards of combining horses with new places, traffic, terrain and other creatures, Jayne devised a series of levels to enjoy the trails safely. As in Dressage, Jayne regards certain activities to be better learned before others. In Novice Trails the focus of our Preliminary Workshops are practised, improved and refined, but the exposure to slightly more challenging places and terrain is introduced. This event starts out at Heartland, where the herd are encouraged to relax and settle into their surroundings after travelling to the location, before playing together with their people; In Preliminary Trails, we focus on there being an understanding about each others need for safe space, approaching and when necessary retreating, from situations and obstacles that are new and frightening for either partner, and learning appropriate etiquette to ensure the safety of each member of the herd. Once the herd, including people, are comfortable, we will explore the Serpentine neighbourhood.
BYO picnic & perhaps something to share. As always we can provide the best equipment available to journey outside your paddock, and bring anything you would like to contribute from your trails kit!
The following afternoon we are opening an Escorted Trail event to all participants in our Trails series, or students who work with us regularly and are equipped to attend such an event.
*If you attend both events this weekend, we are discounting the Sunday Trail to $100! Your whole weekend of Trails will only cost $300! Better value than a holiday - and so much better to share the experience with your horse!
